In cases of severe weather, when the Vicksburg Community Schools are closed, South County Community Services and Generous Hands will close. 

  1. Families with emergencies should call the agency and leave a message. 
  2. Staff will be monitoring the agency phones and will assist as able.
  3. When in doubt, families should call before driving in unsafe conditions.

Notification of closing will be made to staff and volunteers by the Executive Director or the Board President as soon as possible. 

In other instances of emergency or illness, the decision will be made jointly by the Board President or Board representative and/or the Executive Director. 

Whether or not staff reports on a day when the agency is closed is up to the discretion of the employee and the Executive Director or Board President.
