FOOD AND BASICS PANTRY

South County Community Services (SCCS) operates one of the over twenty Loaves and Fishes Pantries in Kalamazoo County. We partner with Loaves and Fishes to provide four days of food to any person who is hungry and in need of food. SCCS uses the “shopping” model—intended to maximize consumer choice and encourage good nutrition. SCCS receives exceptional local support from food drives, church groups, and area businesses, which provide us with donations in order to increase the amount and variety of food that we can offer. The SCCS Pantry is open Monday through Thursday 10am to 12pm.

WEDNESDAY WINNERS

The Wednesday Winner Program is a free program designed for adults with disabilities. Wednesday Winners serves individuals who live in Kalamazoo County either independently, with their family, in group homes, or in some other supported living arrangement.

The members meet weekly for exercise, activities, social time and a nutritious meal. Transportation is included for residents who live in the South County service area. Special emphasis is placed on providing learning experiences with trips and hands-on activities that stimulate the mind and expand the views of our members.

Wednesday Winners members range in age from young adult to seniors. Persons with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges are welcome and soon feel at-home with the other members and the team of capable and dedicated volunteers who maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
